The primary polling places will be open on Tuesday (7/20). Make your voice heard! VOTE! SEGMENT 1 What do you think of the wasted money given to the Franklin County Industrial Authority? Commissioner Moore has said in the newspaper that Franklin County continues to attract industry and businesses. What if any new business or industry have you seen move to Franklin County in the past three to ten years? Would you have voted yes or no on the new hospital and what are your thoughts on the tax free part the commissioners voted on? What changes would you make to the Franklin County budget? Mr. Moore states that Franklin County has been in the black for many years, but when you have to borrow money to pay “Paul”, what do you say about that with your own checkbook? SEGMENT 2 Mr. Harper says in the newspaper that he will bring ‘passion’ to the commissioners and ‘creative ideas’… give an idea of passion and creative ideas. What will you do within your power as a commissioner for the schools? Would you support state legislation to allow the county to use SPLOST and ELOST money for the general fund? Would you be a commissioner to listen to what the people have to say? SEGMENT 3 Business tax in Franklin County is 20,000. What would you want to see the county do to bring new business in? Do you support making private roads in subdivisions with 20 houses or more county roads? Would you agree to a 24 month bond on developers of subdivisions to ensure roads are built to specifications before the county agrees to take over a private road in the future. How do you feel about the county supporting the humane society and not supporting human life? If elected, will you stay for the whole meeting or leave early for supper? What has your past work history done to prepare you for the commission job? How will you work with emergency services in the county and what will you do about illegal dumping in the county? SEGMENT 4 What is your stand on alcohol sales in Franklin County? Are you in favor of the SPLOST on the referendum as it is currently written? Or is there anything that you would like to change?
